"I guess that means we're... you know... together now?"
Admittedly, it stung a little bit that she hadn't said it back, but Jake was trying to be mature and calm about the whole situation so he avoided making any sort of deal out of it by simply nodding. That and being with Emma was about as good.
"I guess so," he said, thoughtfully. He wished it hadn't taken Emma being pregnant to bring them together. He wished they'd just dealt with their feelings much earlier. Maybe then this wouldn't have happened.
But it had. And they had to deal with that.

"I guess so, Johnny's going to be pissed..."
Emma cringed. She would have laughed if the idea didn’t worry her so much. She was about the only one immune to Johnny’s bullshit; everyone else knew his wrath, especially her best friend. But for some reason, the guy had taken to her, and was sort of a second big brother. She thought it might have had a lot to do with how Emma had chosen him to be part of her band so long ago... but even though he had never been particularly mad at her before, that certainly didn’t mean he wasn’t going to lose his mind at the news.
“Everyone’s going to be pissed,” she said. The whole band would be upset... the whole dynamic would be different now. “But especially him. And possibly our parents...”

Jake looked vagely surprised. He didn't think their parents would be angry at them. Johnny certainly. Not only did this whole thing take attention off him, but it also possibly jeapordised the bands success. Babies were not condusive to touring and such.
And possibly a few other people would be less than pleased.
But probably not their parents.
"I dunno, Em," he said. "We're adults... mostly. And while I guess my folks would be slightly disappointed that I'm doing kids before marriage, rather than the traditional way... I know they think you're wonderful. And they'll be begging to be allowed to babysit."
